The Philokalia Literary Salon has dedicated its new seminar to the writer Edvik Chibop.
“We gather this evening around the word, memory and beauty, to recall the presence of the poet and writer Edvik Chibop,” said Sister Marana Saad, president of Vilukalia.
She continued: “One of the calm and deep literary voices that left its mark on the Lebanese cultural conscience.
The seminar was also moderated by the director of the “Literary Salon”, the poet Henry Zghaib, who presented a video testimony from Washington of the poet Mai Rihani.
In it, she talked about her mother, Lauren, and her father, Albert, who had a relationship with Edvik Chibop and her visits to their home in Freika.
In addition, she referred to literary and intellectual conversations that took place at the Philokalia Literary Salon.
Therefore, Dr. Mona Nasrallah presented an intervention about the relationship between her mother, the writer Emily Nasrallah, and Edvik.
Maha Nasrallah then spoke, reading an excerpt from an article by her mother Emily about Edvik Chiboub.
I talked about Ameli’s literary and family relationship with Edvik.
She recounted the stages of handing over all of her manuscripts, writings and articles to Saint Joseph University.
Afterwards, an old recorded intervention was presented by Emily Nasrallah.
In it, she talked about her descent from her southern village “Kfir” to the Charlie Saad school in Choueifat.
The artist Jihad Al-Atrash also presented three poetic pauses.
Edvik Schieboub read three pieces from her book “Bouh”: “Zorra”, “Qadr”, and “Bahar”.
Then Mark Nasr performed the song “Ya Ashiqat Al-Ward” with poetry by Mustafa Mahmoud and composed by Zaki Nassif.
Finally, the director of the literary salon concluded by announcing that the salon would resume its activities in early autumn.
