The Program of the Children’s Cancer Center in Lebanon continued its efforts to develop specialized health care. It did this by completing its program dedicated to the training of nurses in the field of pediatric oncology.
The program is a national initiative. It aims to raise the level of nursing competencies and enhance the quality of services provided to children and adolescents with cancer.
The second session of the program witnessed the participation of 21 nurses from 6 partner hospitals.
The hospitals are: Al-Zahra Hospital, Rafik Hariri University Hospital, Makassed Hospital, Heikal Hospital, Hamoud University Hospital, and Al-Shamal Hospital Center.
Academic partnership to enhance the quality of care
The Children’s Cancer Center program was launched in September 2025 in collaboration with the American University of Beirut Medical Center. This center implemented the training activity through the Center for Clinical and Professional Development.
The program was also supported by the Gulf Fund for Development.
The Director of Patient Relations at the Children’s Cancer Center, Ms. Christian Ferzli, stressed the importance of continuous investment in the development of specialized nursing competencies.
She pointed out that the standardization of care has contributed to improving the quality of health services for sick children in various Lebanese regions.
Practical training according to the latest standards
The pediatric cancer center program trainings relied on clinical simulation and hands-on application.
She focused on medication safety, chemotherapy and biotherapeutic management, and managing side effects and toxicity.
In addition to preventing infections and enhancing communication between different medical specialties.
The Children’s Cancer Center in Lebanon continued its investments in education and professional development. It also covered the costs of treating sick children.
Its figures exceeded $12 million annually, as part of its humanitarian and medical mission.
