The Lebanese University has achieved “a new milestone in this year’s rankings.
It has moved up from the 301–400 range globally in this year’s edition to the 201–300 range, advancing by approximately 100 places globally.
This step reflects the continuous improvement in its performance and strengthens its standing among global universities in the areas of sustainability and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
This achievement takes on special significance given the participation of 1,646 universities from 116 countries around the world.
In the 2026 edition of the ranking, this reflects the intensity of international competition.
In a statement, the university said it had recorded
“remarkable progress at the national level across a number of ranking indicators.”
It rose to first place among Lebanese universities in the “Reducing Inequality” indicator.
In the “Equal Opportunities” indicator, the university made a significant leap at the local level.
It moved from fifth place among Lebanese universities in 2025 to first place in 2026.
At the same time, it maintained its 53rd place globally.
It achieved 59th place globally, underscoring
its unwavering commitment to providing high-quality education, promoting equal opportunities, and upholding the principles of justice and inclusivity.
She emphasized that “this achievement reflects the Lebanese University’s ongoing efforts to improve the quality of education, promote scientific research, and serve the community.”
She added, “It also reflects the university’s commitment to fostering a culture of sustainability in accordance with the highest international standards, in line with its national mission and its role in contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.”
