Interior and Municipalities Minister Ahmad Hajjar began his tour of the city of Jounieh, accompanied by Mayor Faysal Efram and Mount Lebanon Governor Mohammad Makkawi, touring the city’s streets and stressing the importance of “direct communication with municipalities and strengthening cooperation with them.”
Hajjar said his presence in Jounieh was primarily aimed at “communicating with the municipalities,” expressing hope that “citizens will see the results of the ongoing cooperation between the municipalities and the Interior Ministry.”
He added: “The Interior Ministry has fulfilled all its duties, and I say to the people of Keserwan and Jbeil that the state stands by you, regardless of administrative divisions.”
Hajjar emphasized “the importance of the municipality as a local authority that interacts with citizens and keeps pace with their needs,” affirming: “If the people of Jounieh are satisfied, then I am satisfied.”
