The Rashid Karami Municipal Stadium in Tripoli hosted Lebanese Olympic Day 2026, organized by the Lebanese Olympic Committee through the Olympic Day and Sport for All Committee. The event witnessed broad participation from athletes, sports organizations, and members of the local community.
To begin with, the activities kicked off with a running race, followed by an official opening ceremony featuring the Lebanese national anthem and the Olympic anthem.
During the ceremony, Dr. Jalakh delivered a speech on behalf of International Olympic Committee President Kirsty Coventry.
The speech carried the message “Let’s Move” and emphasized that taking the first step toward participating in sports helps build self-confidence and encourages a spirit of teamwork and participation.
Moreover, the event featured a wide range of sporting and recreational activities
including karate, Kyokushin, tic-tac-toe, futnet, football, tug-of-war, and a drawing contest.
In addition, commemorative plaques were exchanged between the Lebanese Olympic Committee and the Municipality of Tripoli. Afterwards, officials toured the various sporting activities and met with the participating athletes and coaches.
Finally, the day concluded with the distribution of medals and participation certificates to athletes and coaches amid a festive atmosphere.
Meanwhile, organizational, medical, and security support was provided by the Lebanese Army and the Lebanese Red Cross.
