The Rotary Club of Zgharta-Al-Zawiya held its annual handover ceremony at the “Ehden Country Club” resort.
The event was attended by former Member of Parliament and attorney Jawad Boulos, President of the Union of Zgharta Municipalities and Judge Bassam Haykal, an engineer, and members of the Zgharta-Ehden Municipality.
The ceremony was opened by Rotary Club of Zgharta-Al-Zawiya member Julie Maawad, who highlighted the club’s achievements.
This was followed by remarks marking the handover at the Zgharta-Al-Zawiya Rotaract Club, where Engineer Marwan Al-Qarh handed over the presidency to the new president, Dr. George Ghalib.
After the former Rotaract president listed the most significant accomplishments of his term, the new president announced the highlights of the upcoming year’s projects.
Afterward, the former president of the Rotary Club of Zgharta Al-Zawiya, Joud Sotto, reviewed the most important health, service, educational, social, and cultural projects accomplished during his term.
This was followed by the handover of the presidency to Engineer Jawad Aqla, who in turn touched on some of the plans outlined for the new year.
He also thanked the former president and his team for their efforts, promising to complete the work that had been started and to fulfill the commitments made.
On the sidelines of the ceremony, club pins were presented to new members who joined the Rotary family in the Zgharta district.
Following the speeches, a dinner and musical performances were held to celebrate the occasion.
