A Village Dinner at St. Abda Church

A Village Dinner to Support the Restoration of St. Abda Church

The Mar Abda Parish Endowment Committee in Kfar Mesha’un hosted a village dinner.

The event was held on the occasion of the town’s patron saint’s feast day, in the courtyard of the historic church.

The atmosphere was one that brought together faith, love, and heritage.

The dinner was attended by the town’s mayor, Fadi Saqr, and the mayors of Benta’el, Fadar, and Damlusa.

Also in attendance were representatives of political parties and national initiatives, school principals, community and Scouting leaders, and residents of the town.

After the national anthem, educator Rita Saqr delivered a speech in which she thanked all those who contributed to the success of the village dinner.

She also emphasized the importance of celebrating the occasion annually with hearts filled with faith and love.

She paid tribute to the Lebanese Army and security forces, affirming their role in protecting the homeland and instilling hope and reassurance in the hearts of the Lebanese people.

For his part, the parish priest, Father Pierre Aouis, affirmed that love is the foundation for the continuation of the Church’s mission.

He also called for making love the guiding principle of the journey to build people, not just stones.

He emphasized the parishioners’ commitment to faith and hope and to the practice of their religious rites.

The event concluded with the cutting of a cake, followed by an artistic evening that lasted until the early hours of the morning.

Proceeds from the dinner will go toward completing the restoration of the historic Mar Abda Church, thereby preserving its religious and cultural heritage.
