“Monodrama: There’s Nothing Tomorrow”: A Moving Humanitarian Performance

The Cultural Association in Tripoli hosted the premiere of the monodrama “Barki Ma Fi Bakra.”

Written and performed by artist and nurse Hisham Jaloul, the event was attended by political, economic, cultural, and artistic figures. It was also attended by members of the media, and members of the public.

The work is based on a human experience inspired by real life.

It blends the world of nursing with the art of theater to present, in a moving style, a journey that explores the value of time, dreams, and life-changing choices. In addition, it highlights the determination to achieve self-fulfillment despite challenges.

The performance stood out for its masterful monodrama. In it, Hisham Jaloul successfully embodied a number of different characters and situations.

He moves between them seamlessly and energetically, adding dramatic variety that kept the audience engaged right through the final scene.

The finale carried great emotional weight and was well-received by the audience. As a result, they praised the sincerity of the performance and the power of its message.

The technical aspects also played a fundamental role in the production’s success.

Together, they presented a comprehensive artistic vision that enhanced the dramatic atmosphere and enriched the show’s audiovisual experience.

At the end of the evening, Jaloul thanked the audience, supporters, and sponsors who “believed in the project and supported its launch.”

He emphasized that “Baraki Ma Fi Bakra” is not “merely a theatrical production, but rather the beginning of an artistic project that seeks to continue its journey by presenting new performances in various regions of Lebanon.”
