Mohammed chkeir, head of the economic bodies, affirmed that “investment opportunities in Syria are enormous.”
He continued: “What they have accomplished in one year would normally require fifteen years of work on regulation and legislation.”
In a press interview, he said: “The Council of Ministers must make decisions today that are in Lebanon’s best interest.”
He noted that “Economy Minister Amer Basat needs a fully integrated team to follow up on all the discussions that took place in Syria with the relevant parties.”
He added: “The political decision is in place, and we need to move quickly to implement it, just as the Syrians have done since Assad’s fall until today.”
Shakir announced that “in the first week of September, we will make a second visit to Syria.”
