Lebanese Olympic Committee unites ranks for 2026 Mediterranean Games

The Lebanese Olympic Committee continues its preparations to participate in the 2026 Mediterranean Games. It is holding a series of consultative meetings with the participating sports federations.

The meetings were attended by the President of the Lebanese Olympic Committee, Dr. Boutros Jalkh. Vice President Jacques Temer, Head of the Mediterranean Games Delegation, was also present.

The Treasurer, Khader Moukalled, Head of Mission for the Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya 2026, also participated.

Sports Partnership to Serve Lebanese Athletes

This initiative underscored the importance of the partnership between the IOC and the sports federations.

In order to provide the best conditions for Lebanese athletes participating in international competitions.

During the meetings, Dr. Boutros Jalkh stressed the importance of the unity of the Lebanese Olympic family.

He also recalled the principle of “outstretched hand” adopted by the committee towards sports federations. The aim is to protect Lebanon’s sporting reputation and support male and female players.

Technical and logistical research

Discussions focused on the technical, administrative, and logistical aspects associated with the Lebanese participation.

Travel, accommodation and transportation arrangements were discussed. In addition, they are following up on the required organizational procedures before the start of the course.

The official program of the course and the technical booklets of each federation were also distributed. Furthermore, the latest developments related to administrative and technical preparations were also reviewed.

The representatives of the sports federations expressed their appreciation for this step. They stressed that cooperation and coordination between the various sports entities constitute the basis of success in external entitlements.

The federations participating in the meetings included: Taekwondo, Table Tennis, Athletics, Swimming, Fencing, Triathlon, Crossbow, Weightlifting, Judo, Wrestling, and Archery.
