The “Al-Nahar” Media Group has launched its first AI-powered reporter, named “Nahar.”
The group clarified that “Nahar” is not a substitute for human journalists, nor is it a project to replace humans with machines.
Rather, it works side by side with its human journalist colleagues.
Nayla Tuéni, editor-in-chief of the Al-Nahar Media Group, said: “Innovation has always been part of the organization’s identity.
With the launch of ‘Nahar,’ we affirm that artificial intelligence is not a substitute for journalists.
Rather, it is a partner that enhances their capabilities and opens up new horizons for creativity and production.”
She noted that “the future of journalism belongs to those who succeed in combining technology and people, and we have chosen to be at the forefront of this transformation.”
She recalled “the vision of Gibran Tueni, which serves as a driving force behind this path; he believed that integrating technology into journalism was a priority and sought to train journalists and modernize their tools.”
She emphasized, “By continuing to invest in people and technology, we reaffirm our belief that journalism will remain grounded in credibility, verification, and responsibility, no matter how much the tools evolve.”
