Dr. Ghada Hanine, Chair of the Board of Trustees of the American University of Technology (AUT), and Dr. Marcel Hanine, Vice President for External Relations, took part in the proceedings of the international conference of the International Association of Universities of the Third Age (AIUTA).
The conference was held in the Italian city of Bari, where the Vice President briefed representatives of 56 universities on the activities of AUT’s lifelong learning department, despite the difficult circumstances Lebanon is going through.
Hanine also met with the head of the organization, François Villas, and discussions were held on hosting the next conference at AUT in Lebanon.
The Vice President then took part in the AIUTA board of directors meeting, during which new universities were accepted into membership of the organization.
Finally, an agreement was reached with UIC university in Barcelona to host students from AUT’s lifelong learning department for a cultural and tourism visit next April.
