Minister of Information Dr. Paul Morcos, following his meeting with President Joseph Aoun, said:
The discussion covered the new plan that “Télé Liban” will launch, including its programs and updates in both form and content, alongside a workshop to develop the rest of the public media outlets.
He stressed “the importance of protecting media freedoms and updating legislation, as well as the responsibility of media outlets to verify information and combat misleading and fake news that could threaten society.”
President Aoun also discussed with Saudi Ambassador to Lebanon Fahad bin Abdulrahman Al-Dossari the bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to develop them in all fields.
He conveyed Lebanon’s thanks for the support provided by the Saudi leadership to the Lebanese people, especially in facilitating the flow of Lebanese exports.
He affirmed that “the Lebanese are waiting for the return of visits by citizens of the Kingdom to Lebanese regions and the return of Saudi flights to Lebanon.”
President Aoun reiterated “his condemnation of the attacks that targeted the Kingdom, especially vital facilities and airports.”
He affirmed “the solidarity of the Lebanese with the brotherly Saudi people.”
