Trabzonspor Warns Against Misusing Salah’s Image

Turkish club Trabzonspor has warned companies against using the name of its Egyptian player Mohamed Salah or images of him wearing the team’s jersey in commercial campaigns without official permission.

The club confirmed that it is documenting the infringing advertisements in preparation for taking the necessary legal action against those responsible.

The warning came after the club detected campaigns promoting products and services that were capitalizing on the significant attention surrounding Salah’s signing with the club.

The club clarified that the player’s appearance in a Trabzonspor jersey does not grant any company the right to use his name or image for advertising purposes, nor does it imply a commercial partnership with the club.

The club emphasized its rejection of advertisements that imply Salah’s or the team management’s approval of a specific product without authorization.

It considered that these practices infringe upon the player’s rights related to his name and image,

Not to mention the club’s brand, reputation, and marketing value.

The statement comes after the Egyptian star’s transfer to Trabzonspor, a move that has generated widespread interest among soccer fans.

The club emphasized that cheering for the team or celebrating its new player does not authorize the exploitation of protected commercial rights.

It called on parties wishing to collaborate to obtain official approvals before launching any campaign.
