The “Association of Basic Education Teachers” extended its “sincere thanks to the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the members of the House, and in particular”
It also thanked “each and every member of the Parliamentary Education Committee for passing the law to cancel official exams and grant certificates to all students in academic and vocational education. In addition, the Association thanked those who granted certificates to students in the intermediate certificate program.”
The Association of Basic Education Teachers considered that “what has been decided restores justice and equality. Moreover, it ensures equal opportunities for all.”
It continued: “This is what we had been lacking as a result of ill-considered decisions. Those decisions were out of touch with reality.”
The Association also reiterated its thanks to the Parliament and its Speaker for approving the release of funds. Importantly, this approval will pay the six months’ worth of salaries.
It stated: “We hope these laws will be published immediately in the Official Gazette. We also hope they will not face any delays at the Ministry of Finance.”
It also extended its greetings and appreciation to all teachers both male and female e”who fought in the streets, remained patient, and stood firm in defense of their rights, their dignity, and the rights of public schools.”
She emphasized that “what has been achieved today is
the fruit of this ongoing struggle; without their sacrifices, unity, and determination, these gains would not have been possible.”
