Tartous Port Enters a New Phase: DP World’s Investments Boost Syrian Trade

The Port of Tartous has witnessed a new phase of development with the arrival of the first modern mobile crane as part of a project led by DP World.

This step is the beginning of the implementation of the concession agreement signed with the Syrian government for thirty years.

The modernization of the port of Tartous is one of the most prominent logistics projects in the region.

It aims to raise the efficiency of the port and enhance its ability to accommodate regional and international trade.

This is done through continuous investments in modern infrastructure and equipment.

DP World Tartous CEO Fahad Al Banna said the arrival of the first crane marks the beginning of a series of investments.

Two additional cranes are scheduled to arrive in August, with an operational capacity of about two million tonnes of cargo per year.

The project is part of an integrated investment program worth $800 million.
