Promising Results for Lebanon at the Mediterranean Games

The Lebanese delegation continued its participation in the 20th Mediterranean Games, held in the Italian city of Taranto, with promising results for Lebanon.

Accompanied by the head of the delegation and vice president of the Lebanese Olympic Committee, Jacques Tamer.

In shooting, the duo of Ghassan Baaklini and Alan Moussa completed their competitions in the “Clay Target” category.

This followed the gold medal won by champion Samer Sarkis in the “Skeet” competition.

Baaklini hit 117 out of 125 targets, while Moussa hit 113.

However, neither athlete managed to qualify for the final round.

Baqlini came close to reaching the final, needing just two more hits, after strong winds affected his performance during the first round.

In rhythmic gymnastics, 16-year-old Luna Barjawi and 15-year-old Seraphina Seropian competed.

Under the guidance of coach Olga Basil.

Barjawi placed 23rd with a total of 53.550 points, while Seropian placed 25th with a total of 52.600 points.

Sara Marwa and Lamar Al-Shami are preparing to compete in artistic gymnastics on August 30, following training sessions from August 27 through 29.

Meanwhile, Olympic Committee President Dr. Boutros Jalakh honored Jack Tamer in recognition of his efforts in managing the delegation and ensuring appropriate conditions for the athletes.

He was presented with a symbolic wristwatch.

For his part, Tamer thanked Jalakh and the committee members for their trust, affirming that he would continue his national mission until the end of the Games.
