The Polish Embassy opened the exhibition “Polish Traces on the Lebanese Railways” at the historic Baabda Station.
In collaboration with the Railway and Public Transport Authority, the Baabda–Louaize Municipality, and the organizations “Al-Ard – Lebanon” and “Tran Tran.”
The exhibition sheds light on the history of the Lebanese railways through the “Timeless Lebanese Railways” collection by photographer Adam Step Rikowski.
It also featured a screening of the film “The Lebanese Railway” by director Marcin Sauter.
The opening was attended by individuals interested in Lebanon’s history, heritage, and the transportation sector.
The “Al-Ard – Lebanon” Association helped prepare for the event and set up the Baabda Station to welcome visitors.
The event also served as a forum for discussion on the importance of protecting the railways and the possibility of reviving and utilizing them.
The exhibition will run until October 10, 2026, featuring photographs documenting the stations and tracks that were once an integral part of Lebanese life.
The association continues to clean and rehabilitate the railway track stretching from the Antonine Institute in Hadath, through Baabda, to Al-Jamhour Station.
Under the supervision of the Railway and Public Transport Authority and with the support of “Bar Consultants”.
The initiative emphasizes that the railroad is not merely a memory of the past, but a legacy that can be transformed into a public space that brings together people, nature, and culture.
