Gymnastics Federation Unites the Sport

The Gymnastics Federation, headed by Jawdat Shaker, held an expanded meeting with the presidents and representatives of clubs and academies.

The meeting took place in the basketball hall at the Kamil Shamoun Sports City.

With approximately 90 percent of the General Assembly members in attendance, this “indicates broad support for the legitimate Federation and the sports community’s commitment to uniting its ranks,” as noted in a statement.

The discussion focused on “the federation’s legal status, the progress of legal proceedings, and the measures taken to address the current situation.”

It also included a discussion of the upcoming calendar of events, activities, and competitions, as well as the financial and administrative situations and the formation of technical committees.

The new administrative body also presented its vision and action plan and listened to feedback and suggestions from clubs and academies on how to develop the sport.

The attendees emphasized “the importance of institutional work and coordination between the Federation, the clubs, and the academies.”

They also stressed the need to resolve pending issues and move on to a phase focused on revitalizing activities and raising the level of Lebanese gymnastics.

Meanwhile, attendees reaffirmed their support for the legitimate federation and wished it success in the coming phase.
