Lebanon Continues Its Campaign at the Asian Games in Nagoya

The male and female athletes of the Lebanese delegation continued their participation in the 20th Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan.

They posted results in shooting, swimming, squash, table tennis, and rowing.

In shooting, Samer Sarkis finished 14th out of 45 competitors in the skeet event.

He hit 115 targets over the five rounds.

He came close to reaching the finals in a competition that brought him face-to-face with Asia’s top shooters.

In swimming, Lynn Al-Hajj placed fourth in her heat in the 100-meter breaststroke. She is preparing to compete in the 200-meter breaststroke on Thursday.
Her coach, François Ghattas, noted that she has achieved better results in the past, stating that her current performance does not reflect her true ability.

In squash, Jason Karam lost to Pakistan’s Muhammad Irfan in three straight sets in the round of 32.

Zafar Kabara, president of the Lebanese Squash Federation, praised his fighting spirit and the value of this experience in developing his performance.

In table tennis, Bisan Shiri lost to Syrian Rachel Abboud, and Talia Azar lost to Thai Sawit Tapot, both by four straight sets.

In rowing, Youssef Al-Mays finished sixth in his heat of the 2,000-meter race and will compete Thursday in the qualifying heats for the final.
