The Council of Inma Shakka concluded the activities of the IGNITE program in Shakka after a journey that lasted a year and a half.
The IGNITE program in Sheka witnessed educational, training and humanitarian stations aimed at empowering girls and enhancing the role of the family in society.
The closing ceremony was held at the Council Center in the presence of its Chairman, Simon Ghattas. Program officials, board members and participants were also present.
During the programme, the girls benefited from specialized courses in English language and computer skills. In addition, they participated in psychosocial support, health and family awareness sessions.
These activities contributed to developing the participants’ capacities, enhancing their self-confidence, and developing their personal and practical skills.
The program was not limited to girls only, but also included parents through meetings and activities. These meetings aimed at building a supportive family environment.
In addition to enhancing the ability of families to face daily challenges.
The ceremony included an interactive awareness session on emergency preparedness and response.
The focus was on the importance of preparedness, strengthening community resilience, and dealing with crises properly.
At the end of the event, certificates of appreciation were distributed to the participants in recognition of their commitment throughout the program.
Gifts and support supplies were also provided to girls and parents. This was part of a plan aimed at enhancing crisis preparedness and supporting families.
The President of the Council, Simon Ghattas, stressed that the program would not have been possible without the support of the French Development Agency. He also thanked the supervision of the International Rescue Committee and the René Moawad Foundation.
He hoped that this experience would be the beginning of a safer and more empowering future for society.
