Lebanese University students from the Department of Arts and Archaeology at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities – Fifth Branch participated.
Lebanese University students from the Department of Life and Earth Sciences at the Faculty of Science – Second Branch participated in a specialized research training. This training was held inside Beit Eddine Palace.
This initiative came organized by the MeSAP and REVEAL projects. In addition, it was in coordination with an Italian university, with the aim of developing scientific skills and enhancing research experiences.
Training that combines knowledge and application
The two-day program introduced students to the latest methods used in archaeological research.
The training included topographic survey techniques, advanced digital documentation of archaeological sites, analysis of archaeological finds, and animal archaeology.
In addition, the study of ancient environments aims to reconstruct historical landscapes. This is based on an integrated analysis of archaeological and environmental data.
The program included specialized scientific lectures, in addition to practical field applications.
This gave participants an opportunity to test modern technologies firsthand, and to link the academic aspect to the field work.
Protecting cultural heritage and promoting cooperation
This training contributes to the preparation of a new generation of researchers. They are able to employ modern technology to protect the Lebanese cultural heritage.
The importance of investing in young talent
He stressed that this initiative underscores the importance of investing in young talents and encouraging the exchange of knowledge and scientific experiences. This will reflect positively on the efforts to document archaeological sites and preserve them for future generations.
It has strengthened Lebanon’s position as home to a rich cultural heritage. This heritage requires continuous research and protection using the latest scientific technologies.
