Jounieh Port witnessed a prominent event represented by the launch of the tourist ship “Cedar Waves”, in a move that strengthens Lebanon’s position on the maritime transport and tourism map.
The project came under the slogan “Lebanon is the Sea with Your Love”, at the initiative of MP Nehme Avram, who led the efforts to rehabilitate and reactivate the port.
Ministerial Attendance at the Ceremony
The launch ceremony was attended by Minister of Public Works and Transport Fayez Rasmani, Minister of Tourism Laura Al-Khazen Lahoud, and Mayor of Jounieh Faisal Avram.
The ship has a capacity of about 350 passengers and provides an integrated travel experience that includes state-of-the-art services.
Weekly Trips
Weekly trips are scheduled until the end of October.
MP Nehme Avram stressed that the project goes beyond the economic dimension, considering it a symbol of the will of the Lebanese and their ability to rise.

He also stressed the importance of public-private partnership in reconnecting Lebanon with the world.
For her part, Minister Laura Al-Khazen Lahoud said that the project is in line with the vision of developing the tourism and transport infrastructure.
It contributes to strengthening Jounieh’s position as a vital maritime gateway that attracts visitors from home and abroad.
Businessman Merhi Abu Merhi explained that Cedar Waves is not just a means of transportation, but a message of confidence in Lebanon’s future.
The project contributes to revitalizing marine tourism, supporting the local economy, and creating new job opportunities.
Cedar Waves will strengthen the maritime link between Lebanon and the Mediterranean countries, reflecting a positive image of the country.
