A explosive start for Europe’s top clubs, as the opening round of the Champions League saw impressive victories for Liverpool, Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain, and Sporting Lisbon.

It was a strong start to the continental competition.

At Anfield, Liverpool came back from a deficit against Atlético Madrid to secure a 2–1 victory.

The Spanish side took the lead through Marcos Llorente in the 17th minute, before Dominik Szoboszlai equalized in the 40th minute.

Alexis McAllister then scored the winning goal in the 50th minute.

With this win, Liverpool secured their fourth consecutive victory over Atlético in the competition.

In Italy, Arsenal continued its perfect start, defeating Napoli 1–0 on a goal scored by captain Martin Ødegaard in the 75th minute.

The English team also secured its fifth victory across all competitions since the start of the season.

For its part, Paris Saint-Germain kicked off its title defense with a crushing 6-1 victory over Slovan Bratislava.

Ousmane Dembélé scored twice, while Ferran Torres netted a hat trick, and Fabián Ruiz added the sixth goal.

Sporting Lisbon also began its campaign with a well-deserved 3-1 victory over Galatasaray, earning its first three points in the tournament.
