The Gilbert and Rose Marie Chagoury School of Medicine celebrated the graduation of future physicians at the Lebanese American University in the presence of a number of doctors and students at the Byblos campus.
The occasion confirmed the position of the Faculty of Medicine at the Lebanese American University as a leader in preparing and qualifying medical competencies to serve the community and the health sector.
The ceremony was attended by the President of the University, Dr. Shawki Abdullah, members of the Board of Trustees, a number of academic and medical officials, as well as the families of the graduates.
Giving the Scarf to Doctors
In addition, during the graduation of the future doctors at the Lebanese American University, the medical scarf was awarded to 65 doctors who successfully completed their studies, in addition to distributing certificates to 48 resident doctors from various specialties.
Dr. Abdullah stressed that the university graduates doctors who are able to succeed around the world.
Scientific Excellence and Human Values
He pointed out the importance of combining scientific excellence with human values in the practice of the profession.
He stressed that technological development and artificial intelligence will change the methods of medical work, but they will not replace the human relationship between doctor and patient.
The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Sola Aoun Bahout, considered that graduation represents the fruit of years of effort and perseverance.
She stressed that the doctor’s message is not limited to treatment, but also includes empathy and ethical commitment towards patients.
The ceremony included the distribution of excellence awards to a number of graduates.
The college celebrated the awarding of the white robe to 68 students who moved to the clinical stage and practical training at the University Medical Center – Rizk Hospital.
A milestone in the students’ journey
This event for the Faculty of Medicine at the Lebanese American University is a pivotal step in the journey of medical students, as they begin to deal directly with patients and gain field experience.
Speeches delivered during the celebration of the Lebanese American Medical College confirmed that the white robe symbolizes trust, responsibility and human commitment.
