Bramana Running Festival: 2,000 Runners Participate

The city of Barmana hosted the Barmana Running Festival in a distinctive sporting and patriotic atmosphere during the “Barmana Running Festival.”

The event was organized by the Beirut Marathon Association in partnership with the Municipality of Barmana, under the supervision of the Lebanese Athletics Federation.

The festival attracted nearly 2,000 runners from various regions of Lebanon.

They ran through the historic streets of Barmana and its picturesque natural surroundings.

The event was attended by Mayor Pierre Al-Ashkar and Beirut Marathon Association President May Al-Khalil, along with municipal, sports, and media figures.

Following the Lebanese national anthem, the 4-kilometer and 2-kilometer Barmana races began, along with the 4-kilometer fun run.

In the men’s 4-kilometer race, Ali al-Rida Kanaan finished first, followed by Zaher Zain al-Din and Omar Abu Hamad.

In the women’s race, Jennifer Tomazo took first place, followed by Nayla Ajji and Zeina Bitar.

In the 2-kilometer race, Charbel Hanna led the youth category.

Karima Ramadan took first place in the junior women’s category.

After the races concluded, trophies, cash prizes, and medals were awarded to the participants.

Al-Ashkar emphasized that the Barmana Running Festival promotes Barmana in terms of tourism, the economy, and the environment.

For her part, Al-Khalil described the event as a sporting and national celebration,

praising the warm welcome and the organization. The day concluded with musical performances and Lebanese dabke dance routines, accompanied by comprehensive medical and first-aid services.
