Author and educator Étienne Fouad Obeid signed copies of his book *From the Vessels of Memory*.
The event took place during a cultural ceremony held at the Ehden Country Club resort.
The event was attended by representatives of military and security leadership, as well as religious, educational, municipal, and media figures.
After the national anthem, media personality Marian Dahdah opened the ceremony by reading a telegram from President of the Republic General Joseph Aoun.
In it, he praised Obeid’s contributions in the fields of thought and culture.
She also described the book as a sincere record of the author’s journey, embodying the values of family, friendship, and belonging.
For his part, Bishop Youssef Suweif noted that *From the Vessels of Memory* transcends its status as a collection of poems. It is the memory of a teacher and educator, and a mirror reflecting a social and cultural era spanning more than half a century.
He emphasized that the book reinforces the values of citizenship and belonging to the homeland.
Professor Pauls Boutros also delivered a poetic address, praising the book’s poems on faith, patriotism, and family.
Brigadier General Fouad Obeid read a speech on behalf of his honored father, recalling moments from his childhood and upbringing in the Obeid household.
He also thanked everyone who contributed to the book’s publication, especially his family members and his wife.
The ceremony featured poetry readings by educator Fatina Obaid Abboud and a sung poem titled “Life Is a Story.”
The event concluded with the cutting of a cake and a book signing.
