A Mass Wedding in Bkerki

26 Couples Say “I Do” at the Mass Wedding in Bkerki

The Patriarchal See in Bkerki is preparing to host the 17th Bkerki Mass Wedding.

Saturday, September 5, 2026.

The Maronite Association is organizing this event under the patronage and blessing of Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Mar Bechara Boutros Al-Rahi, with the participation of 26 couples.

This initiative comes amid the difficult economic conditions facing young people in Lebanon.

The cost of the wedding, securing a home, and the requirements of starting a family have become obstacles for many.

Therefore, through the Bkerki Mass Wedding, the Association seeks to help them move from the dream of marriage to building a life together.

Support That Goes Beyond Wedding Day

Ramez Daher, media coordinator for the Maronite League and a member of its executive board, explained that the support includes the bride’s dress, the groom’s suit, flowers, photography, and cars.

It also covers other details related to the wedding day.

In addition, the support does not end after the celebration. The initiative provides financial assistance.

It helps secure housing for the couples as they begin their life together.

It also aims to encourage starting a family and having children, and to contribute later to the children’s education.

Funding for the Bkerki collective wedding comes from well-to-do individuals outside Lebanon and foreign organizations that support the establishment and continuity of Christian families.

In a country where marriage rates are declining and divorce rates are rising, the initiative carries a clear message of hope.

After the couples say “I do” at the altar, the most important challenge begins: upholding that “I do” every day.
