The town of Minaya in Akkar celebrated the premiere of the film “Ruh.”
Written and directed by local native Kamel al-Sabbagh, the event took place at the Municipal Palace and was attended by political, municipal, cultural, artistic, and media figures.
The event began in the courtyard of the municipal palace amid an artistic atmosphere and musical performances by Youssef Sayouf and Bushra Youssef.
Afterward, the attendees moved to the hall to watch the film and participate in the celebration program.
Munther al-Mar’abi, head of the “National News Agency” office in Akkar, welcomed the attendees.
He emphasized that Akkar is rich in intellectual and creative talent that needs support, praising Kamel Al-Sabbagh’s work and his role in highlighting the capabilities of the region’s people.
For his part, Al-Sabbagh explained that the film “Ruh” draws its story from local reality.
It conveys humanitarian and social messages.
He also thanked the film crew, the Municipality of Minaya, and everyone who contributed to the film’s completion and release.
In turn, Minaya Mayor Anton Abboud emphasized the importance of art in building society and creating spaces for dialogue.
He announced that the municipality would continue to support cultural initiatives and encourage local talent.
The film starred Tawfiq al-Masri, Fadi Tarfi, Muhammad Rustam, Wael Naim, Hani Ibrahim, Yara Khoury, and Ahmad Ahmad.
Following the screening, the audience discussed the film’s content and praised its in-depth treatment of real-world issues, before the event concluded with a cocktail reception and commemorative photos.
