Naji Khalil Begins His Term as President of Notre Dame de Louaize University: Here Is His Vision

Our Lady of Louaize University welcomed well-wishers on the occasion of Father Dr. Naji Khalil assuming the presidency.

The ceremony took place at the main campus in Zouk Mosbeh and was attended by the new Board of Trustees, as well as religious, official, and academic figures.

Representatives of Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Mar Bechara Boutros Al-Rahi and President of the Republic General Joseph Aoun participated in the event.

Also in attendance were ministers, members of parliament, university presidents, and figures from the diplomatic, judicial, military, labor union, educational, and media sectors.

In his speech, Father Khalil, the university’s eighth president, expressed his gratitude to the Maronite Order of St. Mary and the Board of Trustees for the trust they had placed in him.

He also paid tribute to the university’s former presidents, professors, and staff who contributed to the institution’s development and strengthened its academic standing.

Khalil emphasized that the presidency of Our Lady of Louaize University is not a privilege, but rather a trust and a responsibility aimed at serving others and building the human person.

He also announced the launch of a new phase based on teamwork, under the motto “we” rather than “I.”

He explained that the administration will listen before making decisions and preserve past achievements.

It will modernize what needs updating and complete planned projects.

He concluded by emphasizing that he is close to everyone and treats them all equally.

He emphasized the university’s commitment to serving humanity, truth, and science, and to remaining a beacon of hope in Lebanon.
