Egypt Sends 10 Tons of Medical Aid to Lebanon
A shipment of Egyptian medical aid arrived at Rafik Hariri International Airport in Beirut, carrying approximately 10 metric tons of medicines and medical supplies.
The donation comes as part of Egypt’s continued support for Lebanon’s health sector and reflects its solidarity with the Lebanese people during the current circumstances.
Dr. Wiam Abu Hamdan, Director General of Lebanon’s Ministry of Public Health, received the shipment in the presence of Mahmoud Hamdi, Chargé d’Affaires at the Egyptian Embassy in Beirut.
During the handover, Hamdi explained that Egypt provided the assistance under the directives of the Egyptian President. Moreover, he described the shipment as a message of solidarity, friendship, and support for the Lebanese people.
According to Hamdi, Cairo views its support for Beirut as part of a continuing path of cooperation rather than a temporary initiative. In addition, he expressed hope that the medicines and medical supplies would help ease some of the health challenges facing Lebanese citizens.
For his part, Abu Hamdan thanked Egypt for the donation and highlighted Lebanon’s appreciation for Egypt’s continued support during both difficult periods and times of stability.
Furthermore, he confirmed that the Ministry of Public Health will distribute the medical supplies across Lebanon, from the north to the south. The ministry aims to ensure fair distribution and help the assistance reach those who need it most.
Finally, Abu Hamdan thanked Egypt’s leadership, government, and people for their support. He also reaffirmed Lebanon’s appreciation for continued Arab solidarity and cooperation.
