The School of Pharmacy at the Lebanese American University held a ceremony to honor 39 graduates from the Class of 2026 who earned their Doctor of Pharmacy degrees.
The ceremony took place on the university campus in Jbeil, attended by families, faculty, and friends.
During the ceremony, Dr. Nasser Al-Sharif, Dean of the College of Pharmacy, emphasized the importance of combining professional competence with civic responsibility and ethics.
He called on the graduates to treat patients with a spirit of humanity, setting aside any differences.
He said, “Pain has no religion, and illness has no sect.”
For his part, Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Markabawi, President of the Lebanese Order of Pharmacists, urged the graduates to seize new opportunities in the profession.
He also urged them to uphold compassion and integrity in their interactions with patients.
Dr. Anna Maria Bou Garrios, valedictorian of the class, also spoke about the challenges faced by the Class of 2026.
She emphasized that these difficulties became a motivation to persevere and succeed.
The 2026 Pharmacy Graduation Ceremony featured the presentation of graduation sashes to the graduates and the recitation of the pharmacists’ oath.
It also included the presentation of several academic and professional awards.
One of the highlights was the presentation of the “Sara Khatib Inspiration Award” to student Farah Al-Rayyes.
This recognized her journey in battling cancer and her volunteer work with the Lebanese Red Cross.
