He began his run with a victory over a Kazakhstani competitor by ippon (decisive throw).
He then defeated a competitor from Tajikistan.
This was followed by a victory over a competitor from Kyrgyzstan.
Before losing to a South Korean competitor, who went on to win the gold medal.
In the bronze medal match, Saqli returned to secure another victory over a competitor from Kazakhstan.
Earning his well-deserved bronze medal.
