The first Lebanese woman, Mrs. Nemat Aoun, visited the Michel Daher Social Foundation in Al-Farzal.
She was received by the President of the Foundation, Merlin Daher, and the work team. In addition, representatives of civil society, scouting and youth organizations attended, along with a number of beneficiaries.
Nemat Aoun’s celebration at the Michel Daher Foundation, presented by journalist Danny Haddad, began with the music of the scout.
This was followed by the performance of the Lebanese national anthem by the sound of the “Watar” band. The event took place in a patriotic atmosphere that reflected the values of belonging and faith in Lebanon.
In her welcome speech, Daher expressed her “pride in receiving the first Lebanese woman”.
“The visit constitutes great moral support for the Foundation and its employees, and an incentive to continue its mission in serving the community in the district of Zahle and the Bekaa.
Daher addressed the First Lady. She stressed that “we are committed to a true partnership with vision and action, in order to build a state of institutions that preserve human dignity and achieve justice and equality.”
For her part, Aoun spoke and praised “the work of the institution and the role it plays in the Bekaa.”
“The institution contributes greatly to people’s attachment to their land,” she said.
She noted “co-operation with civil society institutions, especially the Lebanese Red Cross, the Civil Defence and the Scouts”.
Then there was a tour of the various departments of the Foundation. During the visit, the first Lebanese woman was briefed on the educational, social and development programs. She also listened to live testimonies from beneficiaries.
In conclusion, Daher presented a commemorative shield to the first Lebanese woman, emphasizing “the importance of investing in people, especially youth, as the main pillar for building a more resilient and prosperous society.
