Cancellation of Lebanese Passport Model 2003: General Security Reveals Details

As of today, it has been decided to cancel the Lebanese passport form 2003. This form dates back to the aforementioned year and is not biometric.

This decision was announced by the General Directorate of General Security. The Directorate indicated that the holders of these passports, which begin with the phrase “LL”, will have to change them as soon as they enter Lebanese territory.

The cancellation of the Lebanese passport came in 2003. The aim was to keep pace with the countries of the world that have adopted biometric travel documents.

The Civil Aviation Organization also adopts new standards and specifications. These are in terms of entry or transit procedures adopted in several countries.

The General Directorate of Public Security called on all Lebanese citizens holding “2003” passports to apply for change in its regional departments and centers.

It asked them to change these passports to avoid any delays or obstacles they encounter while traveling.

The General Directorate of Public Security (PSD) has informed that as of November 1 this year work in the country with Lebanese passports of the model “2003” will be stopped.

It also announced that starting from this date he will be prohibited from leaving Lebanese territory under these passports.
