The event was attended by the Mayor of Tannourine, Attorney Yasser Na’ama, along with the event’s sponsors, town residents, local dignitaries, and visitors.

During the evening, attendees enjoyed stargazing and observing Saturn through specialized astronomical telescopes.

Experts also provided a simplified explanation of the sky and celestial bodies.

The festivities continued into the early hours of the morning, accompanied by music and dancing.

The audience also watched a one-hour documentary film capturing the beauty of Tannourine from the sky, while a number of participants received prizes provided by the event’s sponsors.

The chair of the municipality’s Tourism and Media Committee, journalist Mariam Harb, welcomed the attendees.

She emphasized that Tannourine takes pride in its visitors and their passion for exploring its natural beauty.

Harb explained that the low level of light pollution makes the town an ideal destination for stargazers.

She also thanked those who contributed to the evening’s success and promised to organize a second edition spanning several days.

Through the “Tannourine Meets the Sky” event, the municipality aims to promote sustainable tourism.

It also seeks to highlight the region’s unique natural and scientific features.
