The Lebanese University Reassures: Student Records Are Safe

Student records are safe, according to an announcement by the Media Office of the Lebanese University Presidency.

Some websites reported, citing unnamed sources, that a fire involving a generator at the Lebanese University’s Central Administration

had caused severe damage to the central server containing students’ names, grades, and records.

The office clarified in a statement that “all reports are false and the registration system has not been disrupted.”

Alternative power sources were secured immediately after the fire broke out.

Proof of this is that the administrative registration process is continuing at the colleges and institutes after students received emails with their registration appointment dates.

It also confirmed that the university’s records and documents are safe, and that the server sustained no damage as a result of the fire.
