Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo has announced his retirement from international football at the age of 41 via his Instagram account.
The announcement came weeks after a crisis in which he left the national team camp following a dispute with coach Jorge Jesus,
after he was left out of one of the UEFA Nations League matches.
In a video, Ronaldo said, “Today my journey with the national team comes to an end.”
The Al Nassr forward, who made his international debut in 2003, played 234 matches for the Portuguese national team and scored 146 goals.
