Harry Kane Extends Bayern Munich Contract Until 2029

Harry Kane has extended his contract with Bayern Munich until 2029, allowing the England captain and Ballon d’Or winner to continue his career with the champions of Germany.

The 33-year-old striker had entered the final year of his first contract, which he signed when he joined Bayern from Tottenham in 2023 for £86 million.

The renewal came after a season in which Kane scored 61 goals in 51 matches for Bayern, setting a club record and helping the team win the league and cup double.

He also scored 73 goals in 65 matches for club and country during the 2025–2026 season, and was crowned Ballon d’Or last month.

Kane said he feels at home at Bayern, expressing his love for the club, its fans and the city of Munich.

He praised the team and its coach Vincent Kompany, noting that his family is happy in the city and that he looks forward to winning more trophies.

The new contract ensures Kane will remain at Bayern through Euro 2028 and puts an end to speculation about a move to Barcelona or one of the Saudi clubs.

The renewal also reduces the chances of his return to the Premier League to equal Alan Shearer’s record, as he is 47 goals short of Shearer’s tally of 260.

In the Bundesliga, Kane has scored 102 goals in 102 matches and was crowned top scorer three seasons in a row, in addition to winning the league title twice with Bayern.
