The Lebanese Olympic Committee headquarters in Hazmieh hosted two prominent sporting events.
These events combined an awards ceremony for participants with the launch of a new initiative. The initiative aims to strengthen cooperation among sports federations.
First, a ceremony was held to award certificates the coaches and participants in the International Wrestling and Grappling Tournament.
The tournament was organized as part of a joint collaboration between the Lebanese Wrestling Federation and the Lebanese Mixed Martial Arts Federation.
Karim Jaber Oversees the Course
The course, which lasted ten consecutive days, was overseen by Egyptian Olympic champion Karim Jaber. It saw broad participation from coaches and athletes.
Certificate Ceremony
Certificates were also awarded in the presence of Grand Master Sami Qablawi, Vice President of the Lebanese Olympic Committee. Secretary General Retired Brigadier General Hassan Rustam was also present.
Serge Saad, Vice President of the Muay Thai Federation and organizer of the tournament, also participated.
Signing of a Cooperation Protocol
Furthermore, the event featured the signing of a cooperation protocol between the Lebanese Wrestling Federation and the Lebanese Muay Thai Federation.
This took place under the auspices of and in the presence of the Secretary General of the Lebanese Olympic Committee. Retired Brigadier General Hassan Rustam attended as well.
This protocol aims to strengthen technical and administrative cooperation between the two federations. It also seeks to develop the sports of wrestling and Muay Thai in Lebanon.
Presentation of Plaques
Finally, Grand Master Sami Qablawi, Vice President of the Lebanese Olympic Committee, presented a commemorative plaque on behalf of the Shogun Club to Hajj Hassanin Maklad.
