The Islamic Makassed Philanthropic Association in Beirut will open “Makassed House” at 5 p.m. on Monday, September 28, as part of a cultural project that allows the public and researchers to learn about the association’s history and heritage.
Makassed House includes an exhibition center, a library and a cultural platform.
It also houses documents, artifacts and intellectual events, making it a space for knowledge and dialogue, and a place that brings new generations closer to milestones in Makassed’s history.
The association’s president, Diana Tabbara, said the project forms a bridge linking Makassed’s heritage to its future.
It transforms memory into a living space for culture and creativity.
The association explained that the opening of Makassed House is part of its mission in education, health and community service.
It noted that the proceeds will help support these fields. In this way, the project combines preserving memory and making knowledge accessible on one hand, with supporting the association’s community activities on the other.
