Lebanon’s participation in the 2026 Mediterranean Games, held in the Italian city of Taranto, continued.
With the start of the judo and table tennis competitions and the conclusion of the archery competition, in the presence of delegation head Jacques Tamer.
In judo, Diego Saikali competed in the 81-kilogram weight class, where he lost his first match to Egypt’s Mohamed Abdel Rahman by warning.
He also lost the bronze-medal repechage match against Slovenia’s Nais Herkovic.
This was despite his impressive performance.
In table tennis, the men’s doubles team of Michel Abi Nader and Saad al-Din al-Habash lost to the Spanish team 0–3.
Likewise, Talia Azar and Bisan Shiri lost to the Algerian team by the same score in the women’s competition.
In archery, Marian Allam and Dina Hajjar advanced to the second round
Before losing to France’s Lisa Barbelin and Turkey’s Elif Gökler by a score of 0–6.
Coach Philip Tamer emphasized that the two players showed strong determination.
He noted that this marks the first time Lebanese women have competed, paving the way for a stronger showing in future events.
