A School Supply Kit Supports Hundreds of Students in Beirut

The “Say No to Violence” Association launched the “School Bag for Education” project.

To support students in poor and marginalized areas and help provide them with some of the basic supplies they need to continue their education.

In a statement, the association noted that it has begun “distributing school bags from Beirut,”

with the first phase of the project reaching 790 elementary school students.

The initiative is set to expand to reach more areas and groups in need.

Mirna Qaraouni, the association’s vice president for media, emphasized “the importance of every student receiving a new school bag.”

She stressed “the need to combat school dropout rates and limit the impact of social violence on children and their educational future.”

She said, “Through this project, we are working to meet some of the students’ needs.”

We recognize that the scale of the problem is significant and requires the concerted efforts of various official, civil, and social entities.”

She added: “We have also begun preparing for a series of extracurricular activities aimed at supporting students during the upcoming school year.”

Based on our belief that no society can progress without investing in human development and education,

She emphasized that the association “has made it its mission to continue supporting and assisting students.”
