Honoring the graduates of the Master of Future Energy Systems and Technologies in the UAE

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), has honoured a group of DEWA’s outstanding employees who are graduates of the Master of Future Energy Systems and Technologies programme.

The move reflects the UAE’s interest in investing in people and knowledge.

It was launched in 2019 by the Authority in cooperation with the University of California, Berkeley, USA.

Recognition of Academic Efforts

The recognition was in recognition of the academic and professional efforts of the staff during their studies.

They are keen to develop their skills and acquire advanced knowledge that keeps pace with global transformations in the energy and technology sector.

Consolidating an advanced development model

Al Tayer stressed that the UAE, thanks to the vision of its leadership, has succeeded in consolidating an advanced development model based on building national capacities and promoting the knowledge economy.

He pointed out that human capital is the main pillar to achieve sustainable development and support the transition towards a green economy.

Qualified National Cadres

He explained that the program aims to prepare qualified national cadres in advanced future specializations.

He pointed out that it will contribute to strengthening Dubai’s position as a global hub for the industry of the future.

It also offers Emirati employees the opportunity to obtain a master’s degree in vital areas related to clean energy and new technologies.

Since its launch, the program has witnessed the graduation of 193 graduates in five consecutive batches, reflecting its success in preparing a new generation of young leaders and innovators.

The program covers a range of cutting-edge topics, including artificial intelligence, machine learning, renewable energy production systems, and cybersecurity.

The development of national competencies in the energy sector is an ongoing process in the UAE.

For their part, the honored employees expressed their appreciation for this qualitative initiative, stressing that the program contributed to enhancing their scientific and practical experiences, and raising their leadership and professional capabilities.

They pointed out that this will enable them to support DEWA’s future projects and contribute effectively to achieving sustainability and innovation goals.
