Opening of a Children's Park in Beisour

Children’s Park Opens in Beisour to Promote Green Spaces

The Municipality of Beisour and the “Karavan Association” organized the opening ceremony for the children’s park. The event was attended by representatives of the Municipality of Beisour, the town’s mukhtars, and elementary and high school principals.

The ceremony’s emcee, Municipal Council Member Lama al-Aridi, delivered a welcome speech.

This was followed by a speech from the Mayor of Beisour, Samar Issam Al-Aridi. She emphasized that “urban development is encroaching on green spaces and restricting the freedom of both adults and children.”

She noted that this project is specifically aimed at them. It provides them with a safe space for play and recreation away from the digital world and surrounded by nature.

She pointed out that studies have confirmed that a single tree provides oxygen for three people. Furthermore, it reduces pollution by 75 percent.

The principal of the school and kindergarten, Rabia Malaab, also spoke. She highlighted “the role of institutions and initiators in creating these opportunities for children who bear the brunt of the current situation.”

She noted that “the importance of this project lies in upholding one of children’s fundamental rights—the right to play and explore—which promotes children’s mental and physical well-being.”

The final remarks were made by Dr. Anwar Tawfiq Al-Aridi, founder of the “Karavan” Association and an expert at the World Bank.

He thanked the Municipality of Beisour and everyone who contributed to the success of this project.
