Biometric Passports for Lebanese in the U.S.: Shukair Heads to Washington

Major General Hassan Shukair, Director General of General Security, led a technical delegation to the United States.

The Directorate equipped the Lebanese Embassy in Washington and the Consulate General in Detroit with the necessary systems and equipment

This was done to process applications for Lebanese biometric passports, and the relevant staff were trained on how to use the systems.

According to the Media Affairs Office of the General Directorate of General Security, this visit is part of the General Directorate’s efforts to facilitate administrative procedures for Lebanese citizens residing abroad.

The General Directorate of General Security clarified that, effective September 21,

it has begun accepting applications for biometric passports from Lebanese nationals residing in the United States, without requiring them to travel to Lebanon.
