Labor Minister Dr. Mohammad Haidar briefed President Joseph Aoun on the ministry’s achievements over the past period.
These included extending the deadline for regularizing the status of undocumented foreign workers.
He also informed the president of decisions taken regarding drivers of international transport and transit trucks.
The talks also covered the operations of the National Social Security Fund.
As well as the issues its board of directors will address to help employees, particularly resolving the end-of-service indemnity problem.
President Aoun also met with United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Peace Operations Jean-Pierre Lacroix.
Lacroix said: “Our goal is to support efforts aimed at restoring stability to Lebanon and the region, and restoring full Lebanese sovereignty.”
