President of the Republic General Joseph Aoun arrived at Athens International Airport at 10:30 a.m., marking the start of his official visit to Greece.
He was greeted at the airport by Greek Foreign Minister Georgios Gerapetritis.
Also present were the Greek Ambassador to Lebanon, Despina Kokolopoulou; the Lebanese Ambassador to Greece, Kanj Al-Hajj; and staff members of the Lebanese Embassy.
After a brief rest at the airport, President Aoun proceeded to the Monument to the Unknown Soldier in Syntagma Square, where the Greek Foreign Minister had arrived ahead of him.
There, he laid a wreath in honor and memory of the soldiers who fell defending their homeland.
After the Lebanese and Greek national anthems were played,
the President of the Republic and the Greek Foreign Minister reviewed the honor guard.
President Aoun then shook hands with the Greek and Lebanese officials in attendance before departing for the Presidential Palace to hold official talks with his Greek counterpart, Konstantinos Tasoulas.
