Bayern Munich Wins the German Cup

Bayern Defeats Osnabrück 4-0 in the German Cup

Bayern Munich secured its spot in the second round of the German Cup, defeating Osnabrück 4-1.

Following its big 4-1 win over host Osnabrück, Bayern confirmed its readiness to continue its title defense.

Ron Meissner surprised the Bavarian side by scoring the opening goal for the home team in the fifth minute.

He unleashed a long-range rocket that the goalkeeper was unable to stop.

But Bayern Munich’s response was swift, as English striker Harry Kane equalized in the 18th minute.

Tom Bechow then gave his team the lead in the 24th minute, and the first half ended with the visitors leading 2–1.

In the second half, the defending champions took control of the match, and Frenchman Michel Olise added the third goal in the 73rd minute.

Harry Kane then returned to score his second goal of the match—and his team’s fourth—on a penalty kick in the 86th minute.

With this victory, Bayern Munich completed the lineup of teams advancing to the second round.

They continue their quest to defend the title they won last season with a 3-0 victory over Stuttgart.
