The General Directorate of the Presidency of the Republic, acting on the instructions of President General Joseph Aoun,
and in cooperation with the Lebanese Red Cross, organized a blood drive in which the President and a number of Presidency staff members and employees participated.
The campaign was overseen by the President of the Lebanese Red Cross, Dr. Antoine Zghobi,
the Secretary-General of the Red Cross, Mr. George Kittani, and a number of their aides.
Speaking about the campaign, Dr. Zghobi said: “As you know, blood is life. His Excellency the President wanted to launch the blood donation campaign today right here, at the Presidential Palace.”
He continued: “To emphasize that this is a culture of life, love, and openness to all, embodied in the distribution of blood to all Lebanese people.”.
He added: “This is the primary goal of the Lebanese Red Cross, especially at this stage when we need it most.”
He concluded by saying: “It is a fine example set today by His Excellency the President from the Presidential Palace”.
